I mean it won`t work as "armor" with such design. But, I think protection wasn`t the main idea that inspired such shape.

I agree. No I don't think a sword or some such with pierce the armor but there are so many gaps that it almost doesn't matter.

Beautiful work - is this entire piece resin? Would it work with full fingered gauntlets?

very cool but it for me, needs ageing!! even pure new armour would have scratches!!! and the metal could be a little more reflective, more chrome, it looks a bit plastic, but hey overall good work

Fab work

I can sculpt in clay, and I can make a mold in plaster and cast in latex....so whats the process with flexible resin...there is a hell of a number of different types with a whole spectrum of property,s

can U point me in the right direction to cast flexible resin?

Thank you. :)
You have to make fibre glass or sillicone moulds are better. There is only one brushable polyurathene resin that I have found that has a long enough working time to get into the moulds. It called poly plasti flex. Its expensive and hard to use but if you can get the hang of it, it is very good.

Amazing piece! I've got an armour project coming up, and I saw you mentioned adding some car body filler to your gelcoat when taking an initial fibreglass cast. I've not done this technique before, but it sounds like a fantastic idea! Approximately what ratio of car body filler to gelcoat would you say works best?
Cheers!

Hi. Sorry not been on for a while. The ratio dosnt matter much. it depends on how easy you want to be to sand it. In gelcoat I would not go more than 35% as it makes it to think and you will get alot of little bubbles

Dude this is quite awesome :D I'm actually thinking of making something similar, do you think you could possibly tell me what you made the moulds with or how? that would be great :D

Hi. Thanks, glad you like my work. The moulds are made from fibre glass if they are open with little in the way of undercuts and silicone when I need to. I armour is made from a polyurathane resin that is sprayed form a machine.

Hope that helps

Jay
